i've noticed a natural trend in my livejournal posts.. they only happen once a month.. my girlfreind asked me why i dont update as much as i used to .. after a bit of thought i came to the conclusion that what i think and do day to day really doesn't matter and documenting them will just reveal their true mundane nature. i have an ego .. i like to think i'm interesting .. if i put daily posts on here i'd have to confront the fact that i'm dull. there's a quote that goes something like "if you rob a man of his life-lie then you rob him of his happiness".. i guess thats another way of saying ignorance is bliss.. now i dont like being ignorant.. but i'll allow myself this much. so .. heres what happened in the last month.. S.L.O.T have played three gigs.. each one a success.. and were gearing up to record an album in april (all self financed of course.. no one would pay us to do what we do!). i've been charged with making the band website.. which i will get around to .. eventually. in uni i passed all my first term maths modules with middling results.. but the big suprise came this week when i found out i got 91% on my software computing course.. that placed me third in a class of 158! most of which are computing students! madness.. still thats about it.. and i'm still working on your package heather! |

for me it is still the holiday.. and in celebration of that fact i'm currently having a breakfast bacon and fried egg sandwich with a bottle of hoegaarden belgian beer. and i only woke up and hour ago. .. i'm enjoying this moment because times like these will not be around forever. oh .. and for the record i got the following for christmas: 2 pairs of pyjamas 1 t-shirt 1 CND pin-badge (thanks heather!!) 1 cd ('revolutions per minute' by Rise Against) 1 book on how to play jazz guitar and a 25 pound check from my gran i recon this christmas pretty much sets the template for all coming festive seasons. adulthood here i come! |

whats going on.. i know no-one wants to know this.. but it does a person good to take stock of life once in a while.. i currently have 4 peices of coursework hanging over my head.. sometimes the number goes up sometimes the number goes down.. but its always there. i have 3 impending in-class test.. these arent as bad as exams.. but i treat them as if they are.. S.L.O.T. (the band i'm in) played a gig on the 29 of october and will play again on the 15 of november.. we like doing it and for some reason this venue (the pheonix http://www.plymouthpheonix.co.uk ) invited us back to be the local support for a national tour which is breezing through.. erm .. in other news .. my girlfriend is moving in to stay with me .. and yes i am still at home.. and my parents are cool with it.. odd situation really .. she's applying for various jobs at the moment.. she says she wants to get a place of her own as soon as possible.. i'm thinking this may be my opportuinity to move out with her.. whenever that happens.. i dont know.. its a fair amount of stuff to be worrying about while i'm attempting to stay ontop of a degree.. which at the moment i seem to be doing.. but i think i may loose the next two days to drink.. a friend of mine that went into the R.A.F. after school is coming back for the weekend so theres plans afoot for friday.. and then theres the guys from the maths degree who are planning a night out on saturday .. and theres band practice on sunday .. and a coursework deadline on monday.. jeeze.. it all mounts up dont it. |

all in less than 12 hours.. six tracks.. Doc our producer was impressed by our speed and accuracy.. it basically captures what we do.. nothing really that fancy.. although we did have a laugh with the sing-a-long chorus of the final track.. the mastering takes place on thursday/friday and then the process is complete! |

our bass and drum tracks are apparently complete to the satisfaction of both parties.. all thats left is: guitar tracks (lead and rythmn) lead vocals backing vocals and i'm involved with all of them so i've got a pretty busy day tomorrow. still.. hopefully everything will be done by this time sunday and once its mixed which'll happen on either thursday or friday then S.L.O.T. will have their first record! |

went out friday went around a friends saturday band practice sunday everytime i move my back goes crunch.. and tomorrow i have 7 hours of lectures followed by 4 hours of band practice. i'm tired just comprahending that.. i'm 21.. an old man at 21. |

next door we have new neighbours .. and their first task it seems is to completely terraform the house so at the moment they're having a new bathroom installed and all the rendering removed.. this means high powered drills droneing away from 9 till 5 every week day.. we also are having a new bathroom installed which thankfully is nearly done now.. but we're also having the ceiling removed in the kitchen (owing to months of water damage).. and the greatest thing is that today i start my induction week at university.. ho-fucking-ray. |

i've just weighed myself and it appears i've broken the 200 pound barrier. in band practice today for some reason me and bassist chris launched into a cover of 'bright eyes'.. i still dont know why. .. our building site bathroom wont be completed before i start at the local uni. i will probably have a nick-name along lines of 'smelly' or perhaps 'Mr Smelly Pants'. |

dad didnt put out his food tray this morning.. weve had penrose ever since i was 9 years old.. i can still remember the days when he was so small he could fit under the dresser.. .. were starting to assume the worst.. is this how it ends? |

penrose is our elder cat.. he turned twelve in august.. and he's been missing all day.. and now it's night and he's still not here. he has been acting strange of late.. what with all the workmen in the street and the new cats in the neighbourhood. i just wish he'd come home. |
